The collection contains three compacts (two eyeshadow quads, and one palette for face), four Eyes to Kill Silk shadows, and four Gloss d’Armani lipglosses. Everything is limited edition.
The first eyeshadow quad is exclusive to Neiman Marcus and GiorgioArmaniBeauty-USA.com. Like holiday’s Madreperla palette, the top of the compact is finished in mother-of-pearl (making this a “luxury” piece, with a price of $95).
The pigment is exquisite. The palette contains a jewel-tone sea-dark teal satin, a cobalt satin, an aqua frost, and a white shimmer.
The second eyeshadow palette (Eye Palette 2) has a regular compact, and the shades are generally softer and more sheer. It includes a satin silver/pale grey/dirty white, a cobalt blue (which is slightly more purple and not quite as vibrant as the shade in Eye Palette 1), a soft satin elephant grey, and a shimmery white. This palette is $59.
There are also four Eyes to Kill Intense/Eyes to Kill Silk eyeshadows (a long-wear, potted, “damp powder” formula, previously seen in holiday 2010, spring 2011, and holiday 2011). Armani has once again given these shades names, though you’re better off referring to them by their numbers (names aren’t written on the bottom of the jar).
Shade 20 (Obsidian Black) is black with dense blue and green sparkles. Shade 21 (Obsidian Grey) is a dark steely factory grey with bright silver sparkles. Shade 22 (Ecailles) is a shimmery aluminum-foil bright grey silver. Shade 23 (Madre Perla) is a pink-white that reflects Tinkerbell/fairy/bioluminescent green and some pastel blue. It’s magical. These are $32 each.
Though my sales associate assured me I was definitely swatching the four summer Glosses d’Armani, I think I still got the wrong shades. Pink 501 is a warm light pink with a few sparkles. Pink 510 is berry. Pink 511 is mauve grape. Plum 600 is berry rose with sparkles.
Armani’s website says the summer colors should be Pink 509, 510, 511, and 512. Dammit.
The glosses are $28 each.
The final palette is a face palette ($59). The right side is a shimmery white highlight. The left side is a satin rose bronze. Together they make a shimmery satin light pink highlight. These are heavy swatches; the face palette is fairly sheer.
