I don’t think Chanel ever goes on sale, but every year, during Nordstrom’s anniversary event, the brand offers a small collection of exclusive products (if you’re feeling nostalgic, here are the collections from 2011 and 2010).
Of course, jetsetters among us may have seen these products already — Nordstrom’s anniverary releases are the limited American distribution of collections from Asia.
This year’s offering is quite lovely, a collection called Fleur de Lotus.
Rives eyeshadow quad (#35) is the round-pan, baked, European/Asian style. I always feel these shadows are a little softer, sheerer and a little more powdery than the usual American quads. Rives is a stunning neutral palette: a dusty terracotta rose satin, a sheer white satin, a dark, cool brown, satin, and a soft, warm cocoa satin. The palette is $58.
I adore warm pink Fleur de Lotus blush (Joues Contraste #69). I was a little surprised by the swatch — I thought it would be more coral, from the way the pan looks in store lighting. But I think this is a color pink-lovers and coral-lovers could agree on. It’s $43.
There’s one new Illusions d’Ombre shimmery cream shadow: Riviere (#87). Riviere is an icy, shimmery green-blue (and my swatch photographed surprisingly silver-green). I wonder if this is one of those colors that turns more blue or more green on different skintones. Illusions d’Ombre are $36.
There’s one Stylo Yeux waterproof eyeliner: Beige Clair, a matte peach intended for use on the waterline. Using a light color on your waterline (peach, nude, baby pink) is supposed to brighten your eyes and make you look more awake (I don’t see it on myself). Beige Clair is $30.
Finally, there are two Aqualumiere glosses ($27). Roselin is a light, warm pink with gentle gold shimmer. Alize is a barely shimmery nude light peach.
All items are available at your local Nordstrom Chanel counter and at Nordstrom.com (free shipping at any price). The anniversary event ends Sunday, August 5th (at midnight, Pacific Time).
