My fascination with Bare Escentuals’ Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Sticks (which started with a free mini in a Sephora order) has developed into a… healthy interest in all things Buxom. So the next item on my Buxom menu was their Big & Healthy Balms.
Each Buxom product has a theme — the Lip Sticks are named after cities; the Balms are named after beaches.

The Buxom balms give a nice tint to your lips. My favorite (of course) is tomato-red Bora Bora. My second favorite is “blush of color” peach-pink Waikiki — especially since my lips are winter-cold and colorless right now. I wasn’t sure about raisiny Portofino. I usually think wine-colored lipsticks make me look older, but Mr. Salt said I looked sophisticated, like I was going to an evening event. St. Barth (purplish pink) just isn’t my cup of tea, and I didn’t try on Copacabana because I’m pretty certain it’s clear.
The balms have the same caramel + minty scent as the Lip Sticks — but less of it. (And once I love a lip product, I almost always love the scent by association.) They’re a nice balm, comfortable and moisturizing. And the pots have a mirror in the lid, which is useful because I can’t apply ANYTHING with color without a mirror.
Portofino:

Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Balms are $15 each, available at Sephora.

I love the Buxom lipgloss
it has got me addicted into the brand itself! Am loving St. Barth <3!
Thanks so much for the lip swatches! Extremely helpful!
Ooh Karla, I didn’t even know these existed. I’m addicted to the buxom line, lips and eyes. I have to try these. Thanks for the swatches.
