Lancome Summer 2011: Bronze Azure

Lancome, summer 2011, Bronze AzureI just had a chance to check out Lancome’s summer collection, and I have to say: well done, Lancome. My summer fantasy (tropical island, breezy summer night, cotton dress, evening party out on a wooden dock decorated with globe lights and tiki torches) is complete: this collection is hot.

First up: the two Color Design eyeshadow quads (each $42). Molten Shore features a ballet pink satin, a cerulean shimmer (blue with a slight gold reflect), lilac with gold sparkles, and an absolutely amazing dark, dark cool brown with gold sparkles.

Heat Wave is the warm quad, featuring a pale lion gold shimmer, a peach satin, a copper-gold shimmer, and a warm brown with tiny gold and pink sparkles (the fourth shade here is not quite as pigmented and smooth and incredible as the fourth shade in Molten Shore).

There are two limited edition summer Artliners (liquid liner with an incredibly thin, precise conical foam tip). Beach Gem is… wow. It’s teal green with teal sparkles, and I couldn’t take my eyes off it. Less flashy but equally gorgeous is Scorched, a very dark coffee-bean brown with gold sparkles. I think it takes on a greenish/olive tone when it’s next to Beach Gem. Artliners are $29 each.

The collection also repromotes Le Stylo Waterproof mechanical eyeliners. They’re $25.50 each.
Lancome, summer 2011, Bronze Azure, swatches, Desert Rose Subtle Shimmering Blush, Island Horizon, Femme Fire, Hot Nights, Coral Goddess, Sarong, Paradise Peach, Hibis-kiss, Heatstroke, KarlaSugar, Karla Sugar
Leave it to Lancome to give a product an excessively long and complicated name. The limited edition patterned powder blush is a Desert Rose Subtle Shimmering Blush. The shade name is Island Horizon, and it’s a mauvey pink with a few sparkles.

There are three Color Design lipsticks ($22). Femme Fire is a mauvey rose. Hot Nights is a red pink. Coral Goddess (permanent) is a sheer warm pink with gold sparkles. There are also three Color Fever Glosses ($26). Paradise Peach is warm, light, (peached) pink. Hibis-kiss is my favorite, a sheer strawberry with silver sparkles. Heatstroke (permanent) is frosty shimmery purple rose-quartz.

Finally, look at that nail polish!  DANG!  Happiness in a bottle!  Sarong is a hot red pink with pink, violet, and gold sparkles. I think it could be a one-coater. Yum. (It’s $19.)

Not swatched but still part of the collection: Hypnose Drama Waterproof mascara ($25) and Aroma Blue Revitalizing Body Treatment Fragrance. “Ginger and peony,” Lancome says. I haven’t seen this yet, but I’d like to sniff.

I also found a bunch of coupon codes for As you start shopping, the site automatically puts Genifique Concentrate (0.25 oz.), High Resolution Refill 3X SPF 15 anti-wrinkle moisturizer (0.5 oz jar), and Bright Expert Dark Spot Corrector & Radiance Activator in your basket.

  • Then with a $35 purchase and code MISSUMAYPTS, you’ll also get free shipping plus a mini Hypnose Drama mascara, Bifacil, and Sheer Amourose blush.
  • Or with $45 purchase and code AMAY, the High Resolution Refill 3X turns into Absolue Premium BX Cream SPF 15, plus you get Hypnose Drama, Cils Booster, and free shipping.
  • Or with $35 purchase and code MOTHER, the High Resolution Refill 3X turns into Absolue Premium BX Cream SPF 15 and you get a 2 oz. Creme Radiance creme-to-foam cleanser (but no free shipping).

I believe these codes expire at the end of May.

Wow, Molten Shore looks gorgeous! This may perhaps be my first Lancome eyeshadow purchase!

  • Cassy says:

I agree with Jessi, Molten Shore looks fab! I have a few Lancome shadows (a former co-worker gave me all her gifts with purchase) but this one looks amazing.

I picked up molten shore this weekend @ macys and its blah blah blah the colors look pretty but they are flat and it so went back……

  • sensina says:

The Heat Wave is a dupe of Dior quint Crush Glow (summer 2010).

Thanks for the swatches! I have Molten Shore and LOVE it. I find that I have to pack on the color a little bit though. I start with UD eye primer and then layer on Benefit’s Birthday Suit cream eyeshadow, then apply the Lancome shadow. It really makes the color pop and the brown color is an awesome liner!

My mom wanted the Lancome promo bag over the weekend and we were playing with Beach Gem before our nail appt. It truly is waterproof. It lasted on my mom’s hand through a trip through the bathroom and washing her hands during the nail appt and then for quite some time after. We bought it and it is an amazing eyeliner.

Bree is correct about Molten Shore. Once on the colors look absolutely muddy. Blah blah blah is correct. No color payoff, the lilac is so sheer you can barely see it, all wear off easily and become unfortunately the color of MUD. Too bad…save your cash!
